When I was putting on my sandals, I said to myself, “Maganda man pala talaga ito uy, bakit hindi ko ginagamit? (It actually looks good, why don’t I wear it?)” It was the wedge my cousin gave to me about 4 years ago. Mind you, I haven’t worn it for like 2 years. When I went to look at the mirror, my mom came up to me and said, “Wow, buti naman at sinuot mo yan ulit. (Good that you wore it again)” Then, we were on our way to school.
After saying goodbye to my mom and brother, I went toward the gate. I got my I.D. Entered through the Roxas Gate. Then I heard myself scream (not loudly), “aaaay!” The heel was centimeters away from me. I laughed and then took the heel. After a step, I screamed again! Oh no! The other heel also fell off. (hahahahaha) Since there were about 10 people who saw me, I laughed away my misfortune.

*I find it hilarious when people trip and act as if nothing happened. It’s funnier than when a person who trips laughs at his mistake. *

I was heading for a group of people sitting on the Roxas benches. I thought they were my classmates since we usually see each other there (and.. copy assignments) . I noticed they weren’t my classmates. Oh no (once again)! I sat on the bench right before theirs and called my mom up. I told her that the sandals broke and she told me that she had a spare pair and that she would send it to school. After sending the shoes through my brother, she called me up. I told her that I didn’t need them anymore since “pantay na ang sandals ko.” She said that she already sent it and that my brother was already on his way.

Luckily, I saw Burt and told him about what had happened. He laughed. Then we saw Carlo and after telling him what happened, he offered to put rugby on my sandals. I said that my brother was on his way and that he brought a pair of shoes. Then, Manang came! Burt left and made his way to our other classmates. Manang and Carlo stayed with me to wait for my brother.

When I saw my brother, he gave me the pair of shoes, and I was horrified! Just kidding. I just didn’t like the style. I am really particular of the things I wear. I want them to match in some way and the shoes that my mom sent, was not, in any way, appealing to my eyes. I kept it, together with the heels. I walked with what remained of my shoes. Yey for me, that nobody noticed it.

When I got home, I told our helpers and we laughed. Then I went to my room. When my mom came home, she laughed hysterically! She laughed at the thought that she said that it was good for me to wear it again. She laughed at the thought that I had to carry the heels a few steps. She laughed at me wearing what’s left of my shoes. She even told it to my father, sister, and to her brothers and sisters.

Miraculously, I wasn’t mad. If you know me so well, teasing like that would get my blood boiling. Yet, I just laughed. I wasn’t affected in any way, maybe because I didn’t feel ashamed. I also found the situation i was in, hilarious. Yes, it was an unfortunate event, but it made my day so memorable
